Dr. Dave Johnson, Founder

DR. DAVE JOHNSON, Founder, President and Professor Emeritus of Thomas Paine Memorial College for Redemptive Social Justice; B.A., B.Msc., M.P.A., M.Msc., Ph.D. (ABD), & Ph.D. He is also the creator and Editor-in-Chief of The Mighty Pen hard left political blog, ranked #58 of 1102 in the USA. Dr. Johnson firmly believes in action over words, and works over faith, but he does take the time to pray daily for the sacred moment "when justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream" (Amos 5:24, KJV).

Our Founder: Dr. Dave Johnson,

President/Professor Emeritus

Thomas Paine Memorial College

for Redemptive Social Justice ****

Dr. Dave Johnson is, simply put, a remarkable man in a rather unremarkable world, so it should come as no surprise to all that he has spawned a remarkable institution. Thomas Paine Memorial College for Redemptive Social Justice was born of both his dream and his destiny.

The refreshing, down-to-earth servant leader and footsoldier for social change apparently owns more degrees than he does neckties: Six in total, a bachelor of arts in political science with a minor in psychology from Athens (Ala.) State College (1982); a master of public administration with a concentration in local government and sustainable communities from Walden (Minn.) University (2011); a Ph.D. (ABD) in public policy, also from Walden (2013); a bachelor of metaphysics (2014) and a masters in metaphysics (2014), both from the University of Metaphysics (Ariz.); and, a Ph.D. in comparative religion from the University of Sedona (Ariz.) (2015).  To "Dr. Dave," learning is a lifelong process.

In addition, he has somehow found the time to play tournament chess since the age of 10, winning two national titles along the way and earning a rank two steps below a master.  Dr. Dave Johnson has also fostered a keen interest in the political arena since childhood, serving as a Page in the Alabama State Legislature at the tender age of nine.  Since then, he has worked as a tireless advocate for the homeless (at the forefront of the radical rapid re-housing movement) and has penned several books and articles on the Civil Rights Era.

INCREASE the PEACE----------------------------------------KEEP the FAITH

Michael Anthony Mink/interim president..... Thomas Paine Memorial College, Key West.

-------------Ph.D., B.S., A.A.---------------

Dates of Service:...********

January 2016-June 2019

DR. MINK is certainly to be commended for stepping in and standing tall at Thomas Paine Memorial College in testing times of tempest and turbulence. He ably took the president's chair when [founder] Dr. Dave Johnson temporarily applied for two separate sabbaticals tied to national political campaigns: 2016, when Dr. Dave (successfully) directed the bold Bernie Write-In presidential campaign; and, 2018, when he ran as the Green Party's candidate for U.S. Congress in Fla.-District 15, eventually placing a respectable third in a field of five.*

    Meet Our Teammate:

 Dr. Michael A. Mink..............

Many Thanks: For a Season

DR. MICHAEL A. MINK is a winner, in every sense of the word: He holds six world championships (or national championships) as a player/coach in professional fastpitch softball and pro indoor football. He doesn't reserve his competitive vigor and community involvement to the athletic arena, however: Dr. Mink also has an earned Ph.D. [from his alma mater] (Thomas Paine College, 2015, in social justice and sustainable communities); a bachelor of science degree in pre-law and history (University of Alabama at Birmingham, 1988); and, an associate's degree in liberal arts (Hillsborough Community College [Fla.], 1986). His groundbreaking doctoral disseration at Thomas Paine is entitled What's in a Name: Fierce Final Fury from the First Nations and deals diligently with the pressing contemporary question of assigning sports franchise nicknames from among tribes of the First Nations. Dr. Mink, whose family proudly boasts Cherokee heritage, staunchly and sternly opposes such shameful singling out, by "sporting men" who callously walk battlefields in which they have no right to stand. He is a divorced father of two teenage daughters (Sierra, & Arista) and most recently worked as general manager of an historic minor league baseball team in northern California. Taking the helm of Thomas Paine Memorial College on January 10th, 2016, after an aggressive nationwide search for fresh leadership and new direction (with Dr. Dave away on political ventures), Dr. Mink can never truly be thanked enough for his competence, care, compassion and cogent cognitive innovations.
